Affiliate programme terms
These terms set out the basis on which you participate in the Safe and Sorted affiliate programme (the "Programme"). The Programme is operated by Safe and Sorted Ltd on the Affonso platform. By applying and using your referral link or promo code, you agree to these terms.
1. Eligibility
- You must be 18 or over.
- You must apply with a real name, contact email, and a PayPal, Wise, or UK bank account capable of receiving payouts in your country of residence.
- You must complete the application form and be approved before you can start earning. Application is auto-approved on submission, but we reserve the right to revoke approval at any time for breach of these terms.
- You cannot apply on behalf of an organisation if you are not authorised to do so.
2. How commission works
For every paying customer attributed to you via your referral link, promo code or tracking cookie, you earn:
- 20% recurring commission on every successful monthly payment for the first 12 months of the customer's subscription.
- 5% lifetime residual commission on every successful monthly payment from month 13 onwards, for as long as the customer remains subscribed. The lifetime residual is a loyalty bonus, not a contractual right (see section 9 below).
- 5% sub-affiliate override, recurring, on the customer payments brought in by affiliates you recruit into the Programme (paid for as long as those sub-affiliates remain active and their referred customers remain subscribed).
Commission is calculated on the customer's gross subscription payment before any platform fees but after any discounts applied at checkout. Customers signing up via your referral link receive a promotional 10% discount on their first three months automatically applied at checkout. Affiliates can also create a personal coupon code (e.g. NAME10) via the portal, which gives customers the same 10% discount and attributes the sale to the affiliate when typed at checkout. Commission for those three months is calculated on the discounted price.
Attribution windows: 60-day cookie. If a customer clears their cookies, uses a different device without applying your promo code, or comes via a different attribution source within the window, we may not be able to attribute the signup to you. We do our best, but cookie tracking has limits.
3. When commission is reversed
- If a customer cancels or refunds within their first 14 days, no commission is earned for that customer.
- After the 14-day window, no clawback. If the customer churns, future months simply stop accruing.
- If a payment is charged back or marked fraudulent, the corresponding commission is reversed.
- Multi-level (sub-affiliate) commissions follow the same status as the underlying direct commission. If the direct commission is reversed, the override is reversed proportionally.
4. Payouts
- Commission accrues to your balance daily.
- Payouts run monthly. You choose your preferred payment method during signup: PayPal, Wise, or UK bank transfer.
- Minimum balance for payout is £25. Balances under £25 roll forward until the threshold is met.
- Statement available in your affiliate dashboard at any time.
- You are responsible for keeping your payment account details accurate. Failed payouts due to invalid details are your responsibility to correct.
5. What you cannot do
- Refer your own business, accounts you control, or members of your household.
- Run paid ads bidding on "Safe and Sorted" or our trademarks, or any close variant.
- Generate fake signups, use bots, or otherwise game the tracking system.
- Imply you work for Safe and Sorted Ltd or speak on its behalf.
- Use the brand in ways that misrepresent the product (false claims about features, pricing, or compliance outcomes).
- Use spam (unsolicited bulk email, SMS or messaging) to promote your referral link.
Breach of any of the above means revocation of your account and forfeit of unpaid balance.
6. Tax
You are responsible for declaring your affiliate income to your local tax authority. Safe and Sorted Ltd does not withhold tax at source. In the UK, if you exceed the trading allowance (currently £1,000/year), you must self-assess. Payouts are gross of tax.
7. Termination
Either party can end your participation in the Programme with 30 days' written notice (email to hello@safeandsorted.com from your registered email, or from us to yours, is sufficient).
On termination: any commission already earned is paid out at the next scheduled payout date, subject to the £25 minimum. Future commission stops accruing.
Immediate termination for cause is allowed where you breach section 5 above. In that case, unpaid balance is forfeit.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms with 30 days' notice by emailing the address you registered with. Continuing in the Programme after that date counts as acceptance of the updated terms. If you don't accept, you can terminate as in section 7.
9. The lifetime residual
The 5% recurring commission from month 13 onwards is a loyalty bonus we offer in good faith to keep good affiliates engaged for the long term. It is not a contractual right. If the business is sold, wound down, or the affiliate programme is fundamentally restructured, we reserve the right to end the residual on 90 days' written notice. Commission earned for months 1 through 12 (the 20% year-1 portion) is guaranteed and remains payable in full.
10. Liability
Safe and Sorted Ltd's total liability to you under these terms is capped at the total commission paid to you in the 12 months immediately before the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.
11. Data and the affiliate platform
The Programme is operated through Affonso, an EU-based affiliate management platform. By participating, you consent to your name, email, payment account, referral activity and earnings data being processed by Affonso on our behalf. See our sub-processors page for details.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by English law. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
